Employees from GECAS, a world-leading aviation lessor and financier based in Shannon, have raised over €8,000 for the Athenry Cancer Care Centre.  Teams from the company’s Shannon, Dublin, Singapore, and Dubai offices took part in a challenge to race the comparable 190km distance between Dublin and Athenry, the home town of team member Brian Atkinson, who has been bravely battling cancer for the past year.

Athenry Cancer Care Centre provides a voluntary support service for people on a cancer journey. The Centre offers a holistic approach, recognising that a person who is on a cancer journey is not just a body to be treated, but is body, mind, soul and spirit, all in one, in need of nurture.
